8 Steps to Every Day Looking Stylish
We all know someone who never seem to have a hair out of place and wonder how do they do it, they must be up before dawn. Yet looking stylish doesn’t have to take up hours of time. With a little planning we can all up our style game and compete with the very best of them.
Here are our top tips for looking stylish;
1. Know Your Body
The first essential step to styling up your look, is to know your body shape. Many Irish women tend to be apple shaped but we come in all shapes and sizes, so figure out what yours is and embrace it. Don’t be a total slave to fashion, better to dress to optimise your assets and accentuate the positive. If you’re not sure, or find it difficult working out this stuff, get some advice from the style professionals. At Love Cherish, we have a reputation for providing honest, helpful styling advice. We’ll have you looking gorgeous in no time.
2. Plan Each Day’s Style
Plan, plan, plan. In our all too busy schedules it’s important not to leave the morning routine to chance. Plan out your wardrobe for the week, lining it up with activities in the diary. Better still, put outfits together in advance, so you don’t even have to think or search out what you’re wearing for each day.
3. A Capsule Wardrobe for Versatility
Get yourself a capsule wardrobe of key essential classic pieces, which you can mix and match with seasonal, trendy items to create a variety of different looks. Every wardrobe needs a little black dress, a well-fitting pair of jeans that look good with heels or flats, tailored trousers, a crisp white shirt and tees for layering, a leather jacket or denim jacket (or both), a really good coat and shoes, flats, heels and boots… and of course a bag that’s just that little bit special.
4. Get a Little Inspo
Seek out inspiration from those who ooze style effortlessly. Whether it’s a famous fashion blogger or someone from your local village, keep a close eye on how they put their looks together. We’re not suggesting stalking, girls, just follow them on Instagram and recreate their style tips for yourselves.
5. Accessorize to Optimise
Always accessorize. Keep it simple, you don’t have to overdo it. Timeless jewellery, a statement belt, fashion earrings or stylish shades can make all the difference to your look.
6. Say It with Shoes
Getting the shoes right is key to strutting your stuff with style. Is it heels, flats or boots? Make a statement with a pop of colour or on trend prints.
7. Dress for the Occasion
Consider where you’re headed and who you’re likely to meet up with. A good rule of thumb if you’re not sure, is to err on the side of over dressing – better to look too dressy than too casual. Bring a denim jacket and pack a pair of flats in your bag for a quick toning down of your look with chic elegance.
8. Surprise Yourself
Every now and then, push out the boundaries and try something different, something you would never normally wear. A bright colour, a new style of jeans or over the knee boots. Being stylish is often about checking out new styles. You might surprise yourself and find something new you love.
